Programme Director, Game Development Sector Rebate
NZ On Air
Chantelle Cole is a distinguished business leader and a committed advocate for the Aotearoa video games industry, currently spearheading the NZ Game Development Sector Rebate (GDSR) scheme at Irirangi Te Motu | NZ On Air. Previously, as CEO of Dinosaur Polo Club, Chantelle supported the games studio to reach new heights, earning recognition both nationally and internationally. Under her guidance, DPC's overall and leadership team composition grew to almost 50% women and non-binary individuals, a meaningful achievement in an industry with only 25% women and non-binary representation. A global advocate for diversity in the games industry, Chantelle was selected by Apple to represent women in games for International Women’s Day 2020 and was a finalist for 'Inspiring Women Leader' at the NZ International Business Awards in 2021. Beyond her professional work, Chantelle is actively involved in her local games community and has served as a director and board member for the NZ Games Festival. Her vision for the GDSR scheme is to enhance support and growth of game development in Aotearoa New Zealand while creating more equitable pathways for underrepresented people in the industry. Enthusiastic about connecting with others, Chantelle is also known for her pet Flemish Giant rabbits and her extensive tea collection.
