
Jason Shoebridge

Jason has been Chief Executive at the NZ Institute of Economic Research since 2021. Before joining NZIER, Jason was CEO of Kantar Insight New Zealand, which operated the Kantar and Colmar Brunton market research agencies in New Zealand. In addition to his CEO role, from 2019, Jason led Kantar's Analytics Practice for 12 markets within the Asia Pacific region.
Jason has also led consulting assignments for high profile corporate and public sector clients across a diverse range of industries and disciplines in New Zealand and overseas in his roles with both NZIER and Kantar over the last 20 years. Before his consulting career, Jason held senior commercial and financial management roles in large corporates in New Zealand and the United Kingdom and roles within an international chartered accounting firm.
Jason is currently Chair of Aktive – Auckland Sport and the Regional Sports Trust National Network and a Trustee of Youthtown. He has also held public sector governance roles as Deputy Chair and Chair of the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee of Sport New Zealand, as well as being a Director and member of the Audit Committee of NIWA, a Crown Research Institute.
Jason has an MBA and Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Economics and Finance from the University of Auckland, and is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Directors.
