Currently I am the CEO at Te Pou and Blueprint for learning under the Wisegroup Charitable Trust. I have previously held leadership roles such as Te Aka Matua, Chief Executive of Te Aka Whai Ora, Māori Health Authority. We were responsible as a national entity to inform and create policy, monitor for outcomes within the health system and commission contracts at a local, regional and national level to both Kaupapa Māori providers and some non Māori NGOs as part of the national contracts.

I have worked in the health sector for over 30 years in both National roles, regional roles and Kaupapa Māori NGO roles.

I am a registered nurse by training and still hold my practicing certificate to ensure I remain current around the frontline issues.

My commitment is always to our people, and I believe deeply in the need to ensure health systems and all others are equitable in their approach and responses. If we can help to move the needle in terms of the social determinants of health we will be able to alter the course of wellbeing, generation by generation for our people. When Māori thrive our whole country will thrive and this should be one of the pillars of how we manage the wider system. I have been raised as person of service in a village that I will forever be connected to and look forward to contributing to the journey ahead.
